We must not fall into the same old traps. We are not going to try and make better door hinges, boot seals or dampers, let alone engines, gearboxes or drive trains, than those already available on the market. All of those have been developed on the back of vast investments that a small company simply cannot muster.
If large car companies can share parts between different brands and models within their groups why cannot a small company take advantage of that. No small company can presume to ‘make a better part’ that is economically viable in a limited volume business.
